“It’s been an absolute joy working with Transfixus. They understood our complex project from day one and brought it to life through a series of beautiful films. They handled the logistical challenges of filming on farms across Europe with real skill... I loved working with them on the edit and felt confident they would find the gems of the project. They went beyond the scope of the brief and I’m really grateful.”

Humanising European Agricultural Reform
Project Overview
Transfixus Creative was commissioned by the Soil Association to lead the film production for Agroecology-TRANSECT, a high-profile, multi-year European research initiative. The programme’s mission is to bridge the gap between scientific research, on-the-ground farming, and high-level policy to accelerate the transition toward sustainable agriculture across the continent.
The Challenge
The project involved a massive, multi-stakeholder network of researchers and policymakers. Our challenge was to distill complex, data-driven agricultural science into a series of films that felt human, accessible, and emotionally compelling. Logistically, the project required precise coordination across multiple territories, ensuring that film schedules aligned with specific seasonal farming events and international project milestones.
Our Approach
We executed a rigorous international production strategy, filming across Bulgaria, Spain, France, and the Netherlands. By immersing ourselves in diverse agricultural landscapes, we focused on the "real-world" application of agroecology. Our approach was rooted in:
Strategic Pre-Production: Working closely with project leads in each country to navigate the logistical nuances of filming on active farms.
Targeted Storytelling: Crafting bespoke narratives for three distinct audiences: informed citizens, working farmers, and European Union policymakers.
Grit and Grace: Capturing the raw, practical reality of farming alongside the sophisticated vision of environmental reform.
The Result
The resulting film series has significantly elevated the public profile of the Agroecology-TRANSECT programme. By grounding high-level policy in the lived experiences of farmers, the films have become essential tools for facilitating conversations around European agricultural reform. The project was delivered on budget and exceeded the original brief, providing the Soil Association with a powerful visual legacy for the initiative.
