DAVOS: High-Stakes Storytelling in a Global Arena

Project Overview
During the 2024 World Economic Forum in Davos, The University of Exeter required an immediate, high-impact creative filmmaker to document their leadership in climate research and global policy. Transfixus Creative was brought in as an agile, high-stakes partner. Our mission was to capture the intensity of their activity on the global stage and distill it into polished, shareable media under one of the most demanding turnaround schedules in the industry.

The Challenge
Davos is not just a high-security, fast-paced environment; it is a global media pressure cooker. The challenge was to produce quality documentary content while navigating extreme logistical constraints, restricted access, and a punishing timeline. We were tasked with filming their key sessions and interviews, editing the footage on-site, and ensuring all deliverables - including two flagship films and a suite of social media assets - were live for the University’s stakeholders within 24 hours.

Our Approach
Operating as a specialised, "rapid-response" production unit, we focused on speed, technical precision, and storytelling clarity:

Agile Production: We utilised a streamlined, mobile-first workflow, allowing us to capture, edit, and export content in real-time. This ensured that the University’s presence remained current with the fast-moving news cycle of the Forum.

Rapid Narrative Synthesis: In a setting where every minute is valuable, we prioritized capturing the "human pulse" of the University’s work - connecting their complex climate research to the high-level policy discussions happening on the ground.

Under Pressure: We managed the logistical complexities of the high-security environment with the same precision we apply to our creative craft, ensuring seamless coordination with University leadership and event organizers.

The Result
Despite the extreme environment and the narrow 24-hour window, Transfixus delivered a full package of films and social media content that allowed the University of Exeter to effectively dominate their digital narrative during the Forum. The films provided a vital, human-centered window into their activities, reinforcing their position as a research leader to global partners and policymakers. Our ability to execute flawlessly under pressure solidified our reputation as a trusted partner for mission-critical, time-sensitive commissions.
